I agree with you on Norv...he's simply not a good head coach. It's a wonder he keeps getting jobs. I was surprised at how well Ohio State played in that game...that is, until the end, when their true selves showed and they let McCoy march right on down the field with little resistance. Same old Suckeyes. I guess I do have some pride that my favorite team, the Iowa Hawkeyes, were the only Big Ten team to win their bowl game, but then that also speaks to the sorry state of the conference as a whole.

Yeah, good point on the Ravens D...if they keep playing like they did against Miami they could easily go all the way. Did you see the end of that Colts/Chargers game? Pretty amazing finish by the Chargers there.

Jackson is terrible...the Vikings were the best of a stunningly mediocre division this year. Who are you pegging for the Super Bowl? Right now I'm thinking Pittsburgh and the Giants...but it'll probably end up being something crazy like Arizona and San Diego.

Yeah man, rock it. I have yet to offer my sympathies for the Lions' "perfect" season...ugh, what a mess.

Hey dude, Merry Christmas!

So...The Bronx are playing a show in my town...on the same day that I'm leaving for my California vacation! Argh! Oh well. I hope their new album is an improvement on the last one.

All Systems Go 3 is out, by the way. I'm gonna have to check that bad boy out.

It's good...it's damn good. No matter what Reis always comes out with quality stuff.

Obey your master! Master! *has a brief Metallica moment*

Yep, it worked ok! I'll probably give it a listen later tonight. Thanks again!

Portishead album is up - check yer inbox.

I can upload the Portishead for ya if you don't mind it being in m4a format. I know that annoys some people, but that's how I rip my CDs. It's definitely better than the self-titled album, but I admittedly haven't listened to that one for years. I just downloaded the new Love as Laughter the other day, so I'll give it a listen before too long. Looking forward to it.

Your Top 5 is all stuff I've been meaning to check out but haven't gotten around to yet. I do think the new Cave is as good as that double album, yeah. The Portishead album didn't do much for me at first, but the more I listen to it the more I like it. It's a real grower. "Machine Gun" is a massive tune. I haven't checked out the new Weddoes either.

Probably the Nick Cave, but I'm pretty far behind on new releases this year. What about you?

Lee Hazlewood Day, good idea. Much better than Lee Greenwood Day.

Yeah, I saw that. Pretty cool. Heh, I bet that Neil Diamond concert will be a hoot, too. I don't mind a little Neil D. now and then.

Heath Ledger's performance alone is well worth the price of admission imo.

What did you think of The Dark Knight?

I still haven't heard it yet! I'm planning on downloading it and giving it a listen in the near future. I did pick up both Smeared and Navy Blues pretty cheap, gonna try those out too.

Duly noted. By the way, I talked with Keondra recently for the first time in quite a while. She says hello.

What are some good Sloan albums to get? All I have are Between the Bridges (which I like quite a bit) and the new one, Parallel Play, which I've downloaded but not listened to yet.

Yup, that's the Mono I'm talking about. And throwing on some Slick Rick - never a bad idea.

How many bands named Mono are there? The only one I know about is the British trip-hop band.

I'm seeing some 'Black Celebration' in your recently listed. Nice work, son; it's my favourite Mode disc.

Ah yes, they were always quite a fun little band. How's Future of the Left? I've downloaded the album but have yet to listen to the whole thing.

Nothing definite yet. Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin will be in town next month, I might check them out. But maybe I just like their name more than their actual music. I noticed your fellow countrymen Rush will be in the area in May as well. I'm not a big enough fan to go, though. I really only like a handful of their songs - The Spirit of Radio especially.

Max! I love Max! Yeah, that's very cool.

Sweeeet. Glad to hear it didn't disappoint. How was the Brooooce show?

Heh, I had forgotten that he did that.

Hey I finally got that NO AGE cd. Yeah it's wicked

Dialup?!?!? Eeeek! Merry Christmas and all that jazz to you too. Good showings by both our teams yesterday - too bad it's too little, too late.

oh wow binary, thx for the detailed review. i think i'll go for clockcleaner! feel free to ask if you like something in my list. ciao! veronica

huh. since we're very high, is there anything i should know about clockcleaner?

Ah, Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer. I heard a split EP they did with Reel Big Fish of some 80s songs and decided to check out a couple of their albums. Pretty good indie-popish type stuff.

Cool, I'll definitely check that out.

Some French pop compilation? I've only got bits and pieces by the obvious names (Gainsbourg, Gall, Hardy). I've been meaning to explore further.

Heh! lets get sumit right matey converge is my blokes choice not mine... I'm much more of the floaty/drifty kinda choons, I gave converge a go and well... no just NO..

Yeah. I love how they busted out Bullet Train to Vegas, which is pretty much the best song ever, too.

And here's another: http://www.mediafire.com/?efsdfx5vszi

Here's one HS show: http://www.mediafire.com/?9n1ldw1bidn

Really? I don't seem to be having any problems with it. That sucks.

Dude, there are some awesome Hot Snakes/RFTC/DLJ live shows, along with many others, at http://www.transmission3000.com/, if you haven't checked it out before.

Yeah, true. Your random playlists (I'm assuming that's hat you have going) are always superb, by the way.

I don't know if there's a stream or not, no. Damn Diamondbacks just took the lead, though. :c

Yes, I think that extra shot would have saved me from puking my guts out. Cool to hear about Pere Ubu. There's a band I don't listen to enough.

Ever been to Vegas? DON'T GET ONE OF THOSE HUMONGO-DRINKS WITH 13 SHOTS OF LIQUOR IN IT.

Hey matey.. can't beat a bit of Apples in Stereo.. tis good stuff, have you heard anything by Blonde Redhead? they're my obsession at the mo.

I actually bought a used copy of Love Tara dirt cheap. Haven't given it a listen yet, though.

Pere Ubu's still around? That's pretty cool. Eric's Trip is one of those bands I've only heard of, but never actually listened to.
