Definitely, Stars and Rings would be my go to on this album. I really gelled to those on first listen. I like the off-kilter beats and lucid feel it, the whole thing has Hazyville aesthetic going on. I've been meaning to listen to Call Super, Lee Gamble was very impressive, Objekt I haven't given a look into and Aphex Twin is a sure shot listen. EOD's other alias 'CN' has a new album out on WeMe called Nu, i'd recommend if you haven't listened yet. Acid jams with a lot of funk thrown in, good stuff!

I definitely feel like, as with all prior Aphex work, it's going to take a lot of listens.. and not just that, but time to reflect, space between listens, to fully appreciate. I loved RDJ most for the longest time, then realized SAW 1 was probably my favorite, then came around to Drukqs finally. There's something about its all encompassing and uncompromising nature that hits me so hard. But still, I came back to loving SAW just as much and for totally different reasons... he's just one of those artists whose "lesser" work is still eminently study-able and replayable. I'm just sticking with "initial thoughts" on my blog for now with it.. definitely not time yet for a cohesive narrative about this thing. And yes... I'm so happy to hear that he's just warming up again. I can't imagine. (also: I just this year got all of the Analord stuff and am still digesting it - holy shit it's brilliant, thought)

Syro? I'm loving it. combines a lot of what I really love about RDJ's music from various eras.. I'm hoping his next one reaches a little more avant, like my favorite album Drukqs, though.

De artistas 'novos' que estou curtindo muito, que antes eu não escutava muito são Beyoncé e Taylor Swift. Eu escutava nem os singles direito, hoje to amando praticamente todas as músicas, o que me ajuda bastante é ver shows, então eu sempre to baixando, escuto o álbum umas duas vezes, vejo o show, me apaixono, vicio no álbum, pronto! Minha fórmula! E sempre funciona porque eu sei do que eu gosto, sempre sei.

Since I've got to know your taste a little, I'm interested to know if you've listened to Protect-U's debut album which they released this year? I discovered 111 a few weeks back and gave it a few listens. I immediately looked to see if he had released anything else because I haven't heard of him before, thrilled to see another 2 EP's to make up a trilogy! I bought Popularity in my haste of listening to these EP's too, gonna give it a listen soon.

the funny thing is... i wasn't a fan two hours ago, but i certainly am now! the name was being mentione so much on what.cd so finally went ahead to see what the fuss was about. i just listened to 'north palace' a while ago and my god it's sublime. truly breathtaking. best ambient album i've heard in a while. i'm really looking forward to listening to 'une histoire de bleu' now, as that was originally recommended to me. but first i must fully digest 'north palace' over the next few days/weeks! oh and thanks accepting. :)

your comments on RA's lucy review are quite apt. also "existential angst with romantic grandeur" (whatever that means anyway) is really the last thing I would associate with dozzy's music.

Yeh I think it's one of those albums that seems fairly accessible, or it's just so good that it sticks out for me really well. I'm new to Halo's music though, I didn't check out Quarantine when it came out last year? however, CoR has forced me to check it out! Wow, that sounds amazing! a good measured test there, that and Plastic People's (old) sound set-up. Hmm, I've been revisiting some of the earlier albums that came out this year; Immunity, The Inheritors, Exai, Cro Magnox, Chewed Corners.. Deep Sea Dwellers IV and Ahnnu's new tape are about the only other 'new' things I'm listening to.
