Spasmodic was born through a melodic Death Metal band from Ludvika, Sweden, called Metaphor. It was in that band Johan Haglund, Tommy Haglund and Alex Högbom learned to know each other. Johan, Tommy and Alex wanted to go further with the more brutal sound but the rest of the band didn't agree. Metaphor was put to sleep due to different opinions between the members in the band.
