Dave Collins is better known as Dave Barker, who was a session vocalist at Lee "Scratch" Perry's Black Ark Recording Studio in the late 60s and early 70s, and spawned several hits of his own. Dave also played with his brother Ansel as Dave & Ansel Collins. They had one of the first international reggae hits with ‘Double Barrel’ in 1971. The song was an unlikely success at the time, and went to the top of the UK charts. The duo made the British top ten once more with ‘Monkey Spanner’, but had little international success after that.
