Sounds Around was a short-lived British pop/beat band of the 1960s. Hailing from Southend in Essex, United Kingdom, they released two 45s on Piccadilly Records in 1966. All four sides of their two singles were written by the star of the band: John Pantry, a well known singer and songwriter at the time, who was also a record producer engineer. In that capacity worked with artists such as Donovan, Small Faces, The Bee Gees, The Who, Jimi Hendrix and Cream. In 1967 the group evolved into Peter & The Wolves, who became the first British band to release on record on Motown's Rare Earth imprint.
