Since 1996 Mike Downey has been releasing his pop-sensible musics with the bands Wolfie (Parasol/Kindercore), Mathlete (Blackbean and Placenta) and The National Splits (Blackbean and Placenta/Kittridge). In early 2005 he freed himself from all monikers, began playing under his own name and uprooted himself from his Chicago home and landed in Stockholm, where he currently resides.
