The State Chukchi-Eskimo Group “Ergyron” (“Sunrise” in the Chukchi language) was created in 1968 as a professional dance and song Chukchi-Eskimo group. In 1974 it acquired a status of a state ensemble. In August 2000, it was recognized as the most precious cultural heritage object of the peoples inhabiting he Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. Ergyron is the only professional dancing and singing group in the Okrug.
