In 1991, after the breakup of D'ERLANGER, KYO started as a solo project. The first release of the solo project, “NOTHINGNESS TO REVOLUTION”, featured the unit “OPTIC NERVE” consisting of YUKIHIRO and Murohime Shinobu, to which TAKASHI joined to form the band. KYO originally planned to name the band “DIE IN CRIES,” which means “three expressions” in German, in order to express the missing parts of “joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure,” but eventually decided on “DIE IN CRIES” from the lyrics of “Cries And Whispers,” a song by Rain Tree Crow (the band when Japan reformed).
