Big Science was formed in Chicago, when former members of San Diego's The North Atlantic, Jason Hendrix (voice, guitar, keys) and Jason Richards (bass, keys), moved to Chicago to start a new project with long time friend, and North Atlantic producer/engineer, Jason Clark (guitar, drums, voice). After a few practices using electronic drum settings on an old Yamaha keyboard, they met Jeremy Pena (drums, keys, voice) through a mutual friend.
