Zimmermans Note began as Mich Ximmerman's solo project, creating electronic music and video game music remixes. Around 2000, Ximmerman teamed up with singer/rapper Chris Tocke to perform live at Martinez banquet Hall. They began recording cassete-tape anthems "Soundcheck" and "Emo Christmas" which were subsequently passed out to friends and played at Barney's Coffee.
