Zappaz was created by William Koch of New Athens, Illinois in 1998. Acclaimed by his peers throughout Illinois and northern Missouri, he is best known for his clever rhymes and angry, sometimes violent lyrics. His songs range from the brilliant Dances with Wolves-themed "Stands With A Fist" to a tale about rebels with killer "Fans!" His debut, Under Surgery, has yet to receive a follow-up. A remix album and a new album are expected later in 2006.
