There is two names used for Wong.
1. Indonesian Alternative Band
2. Rapper from London, UK
Wong is Indonesian Alternative Band from Bandung, Indonesia. Formed in 1997, They get famous in Indonesian music industry since one of their song include in Indie Ten Compilation.
Later they released their self titled (Wong) debute album in 1999 and become breakthrough band in Indonesian music industry at that time. In 2001 they released their second album called Esok Pagi but it wasn't as succesful as their debute album and disband in 2002.
The 2nd is Mr Wong is a rapper from South London. He writes inspirational anti-racist raps against his so called "yellow men" in the 3rd person as if he is an onlooker.
His hit 'Not a Hater' smashed the UK grime scene, especially Channel U where it was selected for at least 8 months and his second single 'Gud Thing' appeared on the Channel U album.
Look out for him in 2008, as apparently BMI are looking to sign him according to sources.
