Wayne Devlin was born in the Trafford area of Manchester, England. His late father was Patrick Joseph Devlin who was born and raised in Newry, Northern Ireland. Patrick Devlin taught Wayne to sing from an early age, but Wayne also wanted to pursue an acting career. Wayne studied method acting in Manchester, London and then New York. He funded his travelling by working on building sites in Manchester and made an income singing in various bars and pubs around Europe whilst on his travels.
