Trickle Down Orchestra was formed in 2004 in Portland, OR. Their music is mostly experimental pop, with elements of funk, punk and soul. Joshua Green (piano, keyboards, drums, programming, guitar, vocals) and Matt Markell (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, trumpet), former members of Methyl Blue, used the band mostly as stress relief from the rigors of graduate school. Their first album, Trickle Down Orchestra, was released in 2005. The second album, Shufferin' and Shmilin', came out in 2006. Markell left the band in 2006 upon a move to Seattle.
