Trance Cult Riot formed in 1998 with the original line-up of Jon Glancy (guitar and vocals), Cyndi Adamo (bass and vocals), and Pete Walsh (drums). The band self-released one album before Pete left in January 2001. Trance Cult Riot continued as a two-piece with Jon taking over drumming duties. Cyndi and Jon recorded several new songs and re-recorded some old ones. These comprised an updated version of their self-released debut album.
