Tolka is the main project of Irish artist and musician S. Murphy. The name comes from the river which flows through his hometown on the north side of Dublin. " More needles and cans in the river than fish or flowers " recalls Murphy. Influenced a lot by 60's and 70's folk and rock , Tolka's sound seems to fall somewhere between the autumnal ambiance of Nick Drake and the mood and drone of The Velvet Underground.
