After years of playing solo acoustic shows, at the end of 2005 Joel Michalak created Therapy Session® in the attempt to stop being pegged as a folk singer/songwriter. He got on board with the breaking new website at the time, "Myspace" and created a band page. He started recording demo's in his bedroom trying to capture an idea of the sound he wanted for the band.
