Sam Jones, Hidde Opstroom and Bas Vernooij started playing together in 2002 as a 3 man’s formation without vocals. Yes, they were getting rather desperate because they couldn’t find a suitable singer. Until one day a guy called Jurjen Dijkstra came by to check out a band session. The band asked him to write a nice text about – ow yeah! – Women. The RoundSquares' very first song had been created: Special Women.
