There are at least three bands called The Press Gang:
1. "Rock and fucking roll" from Bowling Green, OH, United States. The debut EP from The Press Gang has all of the ingredients to make your jaded, drunk, art school dropout ass stand up and dance. Sharp guitar melodies and insane keyboard hooks consumed by a punk rock vibe that could only come from Bowling Green, OH…?
2. The Press Gang was also a short-lived indie band from Liverpool/Merseyside, United Kingdom, best known for their 1985 cult single 'James, Where Are You Now?' Personnel: Alan Cunningham (guitar), Alan Murphy (drums), Martin Wallace (bass) and Paul Cunningham (vocals).
3) Based in Portland, Maine, The Press Gang perform the songs and dance music of Ireland.
Christian Stevens: Accordion, Concertina, Piano
Alden Robinson: Fiddle
Owen Marshall: Guitars, Bouzouki, Harmonium
Hanz Araki: Flute, Whistles, Vocals
These four musicians have become popular over the past nine years for their skillful playing and deep understanding of the music—and for their humorous stage presence.
