The Peenuts were a short-lived British pop/beat group of the 1960s. The Ember record label rather shamelessly launched them as a British 'cash-in' on the U.S. success of The Monkees. The Peenuts' only 45 was, as a matter of fact, a cover version of the Monkees theme tune, 'Theme from The Monkees' (1967). On the flip side was another cover version: 'The World's Been Good To Me Tonight', originally by The Young Idea. The single was released in four countries.
