The New Time formed in the fall of 2006 in the heart of Pennsylvania's former coal belt. Led by Alaskan songwriter John Davidson, the band moved to Philadelphia, expanded its lineup and released a demo EP, With Signs Following, in the fall of 2007. The band teamed up with producer Nathan Johnson (Brick, The Brothers Bloom) in February 2009 to record the EP, An Incomplete History, which the band self-released in July 2009.
