The Files & Fires is Tyler J. Smith, Ian Tait, Michael Howard, Peter Recine, and Dan Semenza. Formed in Connecticut in late 2006 by Smith and Tait, the two have been joined by (and left by) a number of outside musicians; currently performing live with drummer bassist Danny Semenza, guitarist Peter Recine, and violinists Emily Call, and Jenny Moffet. The group released their self-engineered debut EP, Like Ivy, in 2008 and recently released another album "For People Talk Lightly…" in the spring of 2011.
