The Discount Heroes originally formed in New York City as a folk/rock duo consisting of Rob Ogus and Frank Tartaglia. In 2006, the group relocated to Philadelphia and, over the course of the next year or so, expanded to a full band, in which their sound changed dramatically. While still preserving the vocal harmonies and folk/rock + 60s pop influences, new songs also incorporarted soul, funk and indie rock elements.
