The Dead Magnolias are a southern band from Mississippi, but that is where the familiar ends. Their sound could be called alternative for their intellectual, brooding tone, or "Southern Grunge" due to their sometimes heaviness, or even "The Southern Smiths" for their wit and humor. Andrew Hugg spent a year writing while living in Doha, Qatar from 2007 thru 2008.
