This piece was, I've read, written from the point of view of someone in prison. I heard it as soundtrack in an Aussie film (Look Both Ways) which had nothing to do with jails. For some reason, this song goes down in my book of little masterpieces, even though it may have been kind of accidental that all the elements blended into such a haunting song. Lovely.

An acclaimed Anglo-American husband and wife team, it all kicked off 15 years ago when Stephanie and Steve first met in a North London pub. It was actually his first solo show.
