The Anita Kerr Singers were a Nashville based vocal group that was active from the early 1950s to the late 1970s. Their repertoire started in traditional genres such as gospel and country, and towards the late 1960s and early 1970s included the likes of The Beatles, Burt Bacharach and Simon and Garfunkel. Besides their own albums, they performed backing vocals on hits by Roy Orbison, Brenda Lee and Jim Reeves. Anita Kerr was also an arranger who collaborated with Rod McKuen on multiple albums and played a role in the modernisation of country music.
