Ted Gainey grew up in Way, MS. Later moved to Oxford, MS where he played with many local bands. Blue Mountain and Cary Hudson were his last groups to back. Through his work with Fat Possum he worked with R.L. Burnside, Robert Belfour, T-Model Ford, Charles Caldwell, Asie Peyton. His first solo record "…ain't no songbird" was released in 2008, with a follow up "Friends, Sins, and Weekends" in 2009. He is no longer touring, but still making records. Last seen driving a bulldozer.
