In this version of “Girl At Home,” Taylor has changed the entire instrumentation and production of the song. The song has a more upbeat electro-pop sound, similar to her pop songs on 1989, most notably “New Romantics.” This switch of sound consolidates her decision to switch to more pop during her Red era. She also augmented her vocals, while accelerating the tempo to a faster pace than one seen in the other (stolen) version.
