Tatjana Kozlova was born in 1977 in Kaliningrad, Russia, and grew up in Narva, Estonia. She attended the Narva Music School, studying the piano, and took private lessons in composition. From 1995-1999, Kozlova studied music theory at Tallinn’s Georg Ots Music School and simultaneously furthered her training in composition, privately, with Toivo Tulev. In 1999 Kozlova continued her composition studies at the Estonian Academy of Music under Jaan Rääts and Helena Tulve.
