José Alberto Iglesias was born on September 16 of 1945 in San Martín, Buenos Aires, Argentina, son of José Iglesias. In 1963 he joined the band from Mataderos, Los Dukers, who had already signed with the label Musical Hall. Since then, their friends called him Tanguito because of his great dancing moves. During 1964, Tanguito decided to embark on a solo career, through a friend of his in the label RCA Víctor. He had already quit Los Dukes.
