Stars of Boulevard was formed in the summer of 2008 from 3 rivaling Vancouver bands. Ken Abbey, a ‘roots of rock’ trained shredder and Johnny Kaye, an aggressive styled rock bass player, were members of the same band for several years, sharing stages on several occasions with another band fronted by Josh Abel, a charismatic, melody and lyrics minded front man.
