Formed in March 1996, Source of Tide emerged from Norway’s thriving black metal scene, blending melodic elements with a dark, intense sound. The original lineup included Sven Tore Dammen (vocals), Atle Høidalen (guitar), Geir Hovland (bass), Pendragon (lead guitar), Gøran Flåtin (drums), and Cosmocrator (keys). Lineup changes soon followed. Gøran departed in 1997, prompting Cosmocrator to take over drums while continuing on keyboards.
