Sound of Reverse formed in the late 1990s in Allentown/Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Its most consistent lineup included drummer Tony Lipovsky, singer/guitarists Tom Cobb and Chris Eckhart, and singer/bassist Pete Brown. Altogether, they released three full-length albums, with Pete Brown departing for the Austin-based band Velorum before their final effort. His replacement, Matt Gregorec, had previously served bass duties in the Hopeless Records band, Digger. Members of Sound of Reverse went on to perform in Watching the Moon, By the Lights, and Battering Ram.
