Originally beginning as a participatory-exploratory music ethnography project in Urbana, IL in late 2007, Shor was born out of collaborations between some of the artists off Tape Records Inc. Shor's recordings are free-form and experimental, generally employing the use of synthesizers and drum machines but are not necessarily limited to any kind of instrumental or sonic constraints.
