In 2009, a group of like-minded individuals started She Walks Without Legs, with the goal of creating music that would separate them from other acts. While one could categorize SWWL as being a part of the hardcore scene, its members are heavily influenced by a wide assortment of distinct metal genres, included but not limited to death, black, power and thrash metal.
