SGO48 (short for SAIGON48, but read as S.G.O. Forty-eight) was a Vietnamese idol girl group produced by Akimoto Yasushi and the 6th international sister group of AKB48. The 1st generation with 29 members were announced on November 17th 2018. Unlike the other 48 Groups, SGO48 is named after the former name of Ho Chi Minh City, which is Saigon. On December 5, 2021, it was announced they will disband after their 3rd year anniversary on December 22, 2021 due to the impacts of COVID-19 Pandemic.
