Rust and Regret came into existence in 2003, when brothers Stephen Neeson and James Neeson decided to form a metal band after being inspired by the live DVD accompanying the then new Metallica album ‘St. Anger.’ The band began writing material, (including songs called ‘Can’t,’ and ‘Frailty,’) eventually agreeing upon the name Rust and Regret which was taken from a poem Stephen had written about World War One.
