Ruby Jones, she was lead singer of the band of the same name formed in 1969. She then joined Black Oak Arkansas in 1973. She changed her name to Ruby Starr in 1974 when she went solo as Ruby Star /
Ruby Starr and also played with
The Ruby Star Band. In the late '70s, she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she became a popular club act. In the '90s, she performed at clubs on The Strip and various hotels in Las Vegas, returning to Toledo due to her illness.
