Born on December 21, 1924 in Rotterdam, the Dutch jazz vocalist Rita Reys has been a fixture on the international scene since the mid-1940's. Her second marriage in 1960 to pianist Pim Jacobs cemented a musical and personal partnership that would continue until Jacobs' death from cancer in 1996.
