Richard heard Rick play this song once and asked what it was after been told Richard told Rick he would love that been played at his funeral. The piece was played at Richard Whitley's Memorial at York Minster on 10 November 2005, five months after his death.

Originally a classically trained pianist, he was a pioneer in the use of electronic keyboards and in the use of a rock band in combination with orchestra and choir.
