Revel Moon was born in late 2001 when Irene (lead vocals, lyrics) and Jay (percussion) returned to America from a few years in Okinawa . Irene's father, John (rhythm guitar), had written a few songs and the three Revelers thought it might be interesting to see where those songs took them. Soon, father and daughter became a songwriting team–Irene wrote lyrics and John found the right music to go with her words. Jay gave the music its throbbing heartbeat and helped arrange the songs.
