Real PD are a lo-Fi synthpop band based in northern England. Originally named Potential Difference, the project began in 1984 with founder member Alistair Cumberford (born 1970), who subsequently joined forces in 1985 with Liverpool schoolmates bassoonist Guy Wigmore and keyboardist and vocalist Mark Cahill (both also born 1970) when they began work on their first ensemble direct-to-tape album ‘Love & Stuff’.
