Ransom Knowling (New Orleans, Louisiana, June 24, 1912 - October 22, 1967, Chicago, Illinois) was an American blues and jazz musician. Best known as a bass player, Knowling also played tuba and violin. He performed with New Orleans big bands in the 1920s and 30s under Sidney Desvigne, Joe Robichaux and others, then moved to Chicago where he played on many blues and R&B records.
