The Radio Rats was a South African rock group formed in 1977 in Springs, Gauteng. The protagonist behind the Radio Rats was Jonathan Handley, a man with an unusual (some people might say "warped") view on life and music. Handley was the chief songwriter for the band, played guitar and bass, and sang. He was born in Tanganyika (now Tanzania) on 5 June 1954. His family moved to Springs when he was almost three.
