Polar Bear Parade were a four-piece independent art-pop group based in Brooklyn and Philadelphia. Marisha is formerly of The Consultants, who released an album in 2005 on Shelflife Records, and James is from the UK-based experimental post-rock band 30 Day Hex on Gizeh Records. Drummer Gus Stadler is an author and English professor, and is also in the band M.Fix. While Polar Bear Parade's bassist, Marta DeLeon, is from the band Emma La Reina. Marisha is now in the Brooklyn indierock group Corita.
