The Swiss composer Paul Huber lost his parents as a ten-year-old boy and then grew up in Kirchberg with a foster family. Huber studied from 1940 to 1947 at the Zurich Conservatory – with the subjects of counterpoint, piano, organ and school music. After graduating, he studied with Nadia Boulanger in Paris. Already in 1943 Paul Huber took up the position as organist at the city church of St. Nicholas in Wil, St. Gallen and finally became a lecturer for voice and piano to the Cantonal School of St. Gallen.
