Omasuyu is a group of french musicians which formed in 1979, during the time when Andean music was very famous in Europe, especially in France. The group was largely influenced by well known groups like Los Rhupay, Jairas and Grupo Aymara. Omasuyu is mainly performing in Britany (France). Some of the artists composed their own andean music. In the "Jirira…" album, all of the tracks were composed by the Omasuyu members in 1994. Their last cd was entitled : "Un quarto de siglo" An ultimate cd, which they've been working on during 2009-2010, is about to be released soon.
