While taking time off from pursuing a career in music from 2004 to 2006, during which time he fell into drugs and alcohol, Boris recorded his songs in the safety of his own studio with some friends, namely Guitarist Aaron Slipp (Prong, Tad), and bassist John Fahnestock (Snot, Amen, Lo-Pro).
