Musta Joutsen was formed in 2006 at Hyvinkää, Finland when Toni Loimuneva (quitar), Markus Nieminen (keyboard) ja Teemu Skyttä (base) posted a message to Internet for finding new band members. Posting was successful; guitarist Ertsi Eerola and singer Katriina Wiiala replied. When Manu Oikarinen was added as drummer, lineup of Musta Joutsen was ready.
