Daniel Miranda is a graduated Geographer by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He studied music by himself. In 1996 he was hired by the Petropolis Municipal Education Secretary to teach Brazilian Popular Music History in the project Music Workshop, held at the Culture Center of that city. In 1997 he formed with Paulo Sá (Mandolin) and Henrique Drach (Cello) the ensemble RIOTRIO.
